This past week, I was so blessed to receive an entire wardrobe for my little guy! We probably have more clothes for our baby now than we’ll even need! First of all, my sister Marci and I hit yard sales last Friday and Saturday. Friday, we scored in our own neighborhood at a moving sale. There was a huge table FULL of darling, very gently used baby boy clothes. For only $20, we got this huge pile of the most adorable little baby boy clothes (bottom)! There were probably about 30 outfits, and some of them still had tags on them. GREAT deal. On Saturday, for just $3, I got another armful of clothes from another yard sale. Also an amazing deal. Fancy Pants
A new view of Mother's Day
Mother’s Day has always been so bittersweet for me as a "wannabe” mother, I always took it quite hard and yet had hope for my motherhood to come. This year was that time I had been hoping for, or at least a start to it. For the first time ever, I knew I was really going to be a mother on that special day set aside to celebrate mothers. Jesse chose to announce to us the week before Mother’s Day, and what an incredible gift! I wanted to post here the pictures we took to commemorate this special Mother’s Day.
Obviously, the two photos involving food were taken on Mother's Day. Shane got up early and made me heart-shaped pancakes and eggs. PS- the pancakes have chocolate-dipped strawberries atop them for real-- you were not just dreaming. IHOP, eat your heart out!!
The other two pictures were ones I took after we received the announcement that we had been chosen. I went through all the baby stuff we had stored and I took anything and everything out of storage that would work for a baby boy. The Pooh & Tigger were purchased when Shane and I were engaged. We got them for a great deal at the Thanksgiving Point "Christmas in July" sale when we also bought our first Christmas stockings together. They mean a lot to me knowing they've waited all this time with us for a little one to belong to. The onsies pictured were a more recent purchase, but I love them. My family has always had such sports-oriented boys, and each of the onsies in this set has a reference to an athletic little boy. We shall see, right?
Now, the pancakes were scrumptious, but this to me was the best Mother's Day gift of all! Shane put up the crib we've be
en holding onto since Gracie (our niece) grew out of it a couple of years ago. We haven't dared ever put it together yet as we thought we might turn into one of those "creepy" couples who have their nursery completely set up with no word of a baby yet, so this was the first time. Shane, being the totally handy man that he is, got it together quickly and we were all smiles the night before Mother's Day. I found myself feeling complete somehow, knowing I could finally relax and enjoy the annual celebration.
Now, lest I forget, I want to remind all of us that although I finally can enjoy Mother's Day, there are still many who will weep at it's coming each year. Let us all be thoughtful of those who might not have been blessed with the fruits of Motherhood yet. Remember always on Mother's Day to celebrate instead WOMANHOOD, for every woman truly is a mother whether she has children or not.

Okay, where to begin—we are so far behind where we hoped to be at this point!! I will do my best to catch up today, though, okay?
I know—the picture of the pineapple can. Yes, that will do. Have you ever moved somewhere, but after a month you still hadn’t quite gotten through the boxes, so you had to get creative with tasks at hand? Shane did. This picture displays the can of pineapple that Shane pried open with a bottle opener before we found the can opener. That is so typical just after a move—can never find the right tools when you need them!!
