You can find out more about them and contact them by visiting their adoption blog:

Update: Congratulations to Ian & Michelle! They are adopting a boy in October.

Hello!
Our names are Ian and Michelle, thanks so much for taking a minute to get to know us! We are very excited to be parents and are so thankful for the wonderful people in the world that are willing to help others start their families.

We met at a dance in high school and have been in love ever since! After 10 years of being together, almost 7 years of marriage, and 6 years of wanting a family, we are ready, excited, and hoping for a child!
We love spending time together and with our families! We enjoy the outdoors, camping, sports, music, photography, and always have projects to work on! We live in a cute home in a nice neighborhood with a big backyard. Our dogs Harley, Marvin, and Tia are lots of fun and bring us so much joy.

Both of our parents have long standing traditions that we grew up with and still enjoy doing now. All family and friends are always welcome at Ian's parents house on Friday night for delicious home made pizza. Its so fun to get together and talk about the week or whatever, eat, and have fun! Also on Sundays we go to Ian's parents for dinner after church and then Michelle's parents in the evening. We love to see our siblings, nieces, and nephews. Every year we get together with all of Michelle's extended family for a huge Christmas Party! Every winter we love to go to the cabin in Island Park with Ian's family. We play games, watch movies, and eat lots of great food! Those are just a few of the many traditions we love!

Spotlight Saturday - Sam & Lacey, Ali & Nic

Please take a moment to get to know Sam & Lacey, Ali & Nic, a wonderful family in Utah hoping to adopt.
You can find out more about them and contact them by visiting their adoption blog:

Update: Congratulations to Sam and Lacey! They adopted a girl in August.

Sam grew up in a family with one sister and three brothers, in which he was the youngest. Sam was raised on a farm. They have sold the farm, but Sam is grateful for the experiences it taught him. We live close to most of his family and see them frequently. Sam is a very hard worker and has been successful in owning his own construction company. He also worked hard at building our home. We spent many hours together building our home. Sam likes his job because it gives him the flexibility to be able to spend a lot of time with his family.

Lacey grew up in a family with three other siblings. They get together often and enjoy each other’s company. Lacey loves being a stay-at-home mom. She loves learning new things and is often looking for a challenge. She loves being around family and friends and is a very social person. She can often be found at the park with the kids, her friends, and their kids. She has recently found a new love to run. She has even roped Sam into some races. But most of all, she loves nothing more than to ENJOY everyday she has with her family and watching them grow

Ali is 4 1/2 years old. She loves preschool and is looking forward to going to Kindergarten in the fall. She is full of attitude and personality. She loves playing outside riding her bikes and finding rocks. She is pretty "girlie" but enjoys playing with the many neighbor boys. She loves her brother more than anything and their bond is very special. She loves to be a part of his bed time routine and loves telling him "goodnight" and giving him "kissies".

Nic is full of love. He is the happiest kid I know. Many Strangers comment on his smile and how content he is. He loves to play with balls, trucks, or ride with his sister in their pretend car. He is very smart and LOVES to see his dad come home. He is a people person and often steals the hearts of many.

We are so grateful for him in our family and for the peace, joy, and happiness he brings to it. We are blessed to be called his parents.

Spotlight Saturday - Gavin & Shauna

Please take a moment to get to know Gavin & Shauna, a happy couple in Utah hoping to adopt.

You can find out more about them and contact them by visiting their adoption blog:

Update: Congratulations to Gavin & Shauna! They adopted a boy in August!

A little about us…

We have been married for a blissful five years. We met at a high school dance and became best friends. Since we have only grown closer and closer with each day. Some people say we still look newlywed, whatever that means. We love making each other laugh and can’t seem to learn enough about each other, which is one of our favorite things to do. We love doing just about anything as long as were together. Hiking, camping, sports of all kinds, cooking, cleaning, playing games, road trips… etc. If we’re together then we are having a good time.

We are very involved with our extended families. Gavin thinks sometimes Shauna is better friends with his own cousins. We enjoy getting to visit our siblings and parents on a weekly basis. We love getting to play with our nieces and nephews and feel no burden at all taking them off their parent’s hands.

We have tried to build our home so that the Spirit of the Lord can constantly be there. We have believed that the Spirit is the greatest teacher and we love to learn. We are constantly building a library of books of many different subjects. We both value education and feel that we can never learn enough. Our children will be brought up in a home of love and support, and will be taught of the great sacrifice and love that their birth parents have for them.

Gavin says

Well let me tell you about Shauna. She is someone that you meet and can’t not fall in love with, it just can’t happen. She has such a loving personality and has the most caring heart. Constantly when we are driving and see someone off to the side of the road she gives me the look or says “do you think that they are ok” knowing that if she says that I will turn around and see. She is the type of person that will always be there to put her arm around you. She has a lot of energy and puts it to good use. Shauna is very, very, creative. She loves taking pictures, painting, sewing, making cards, cooking, and pretty much anything that she can do to create something. She has set many goals for her life, one being to get her bachelor’s degree in English. She is someone that won’t accept anything but her best. Shauna has the greatest faith in her Father in Heaven. She is constantly telling me of how He has answered another one of her prayers, even if it was the smallest thing. She never forgets it was Him that made it possible. She seems to be able to push everyone she comes in contact with to be their very best self. I truly love her with all my heart.

Shauna says

I could write pages about Gavin, but I'll try not to. He is the most wonderful person I know or have ever met. And I'm not just saying that because he's my husband! To me, he personifies the scripture "slow to anger" and is one of the most humble people I know. He has a deep love for his Savior and it shows in his kindness and gentleness. He's a very hard worker. He's worked hard to get into BYU for his bachelor's degree and is now working on his master's degree there. He is very service minded. He cares about the families he home teaches very much and strives to fulfill his calling as a home teacher. He always volunteers us to clean the church, he just loves to help! He's not a chatterbox but definitely opens up more the more he gets to know you. He's very thoughtful. He always thinks about what he says before he says it because he never wants to hurt anyone’s feelings. He's always there with a hug for me at the end of the day or to rub my head when I'm stressed. During our 5 years of being married I have never felt harshness, resentment, or bitterness of any kind from him while we explored my fertility problems. We’re the same on a lot of things but our differences enrich our friendship. We’re best friends and love to pal around on adventures. A couple of other facts about Gavin are that he loves airplanes and college football. He’s also a handy man which I greatly appreciate! He’s quick to fix things and also loves taking things apart. He’s very excited to work in his chosen field of Mechanical Engineering. I love him so much. He's my best friend and I feel very blessed to be married to him.

We both are very excited about the whole adoption process and have felt Heavenly Father’s spirit in every step we have taken.

Love,

Gavin and Shauna

Spotlight Saturday - Robby & Angee

Please take a moment to get to know Robby & Angee, a happy couple in our home state of Arizona hoping to adopt.

You can find out more about them and contact them by visiting their adoption blog:

Update: Congratulations to Robby & Angee! They adopted a girl in May!

Happily Ever After

Once Upon a Time, there was a King and Queen. They longed for a child, but for years their dream did not come true. Finally, they decided to search for an Angel. They knew this Angel would bring their miracle to them and bless them with a child. So the King and Queen prayed for their Angel. They told their friends to help search for their Angel. The King and Queen know she is out there and cannot wait to meet her. They are so excited to welcome their Angel into their home and their lives to complete their Happily Ever After.

About Us

We met in our Single's ward while we were both going to college. After a few misunderstandings, Robby completely ignoring Angee, and Angee dating Robby's roommate and that not working out, Robby finally asked Angee on a date. We went to a wedding... 2 hours away. We talked the entire ride there and back and quickly knew that we wanted to spend all our time together. 2 days later, Angee drove 3 hours to meet Robby's family. The next day, Robby drove the 3 hours back and met Angee's family. 2 months (exactly) from our first date, Robby proposed to Angee. She said yes and on our 6 month anniversary, we were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple.

We love to watch movies together. Our first date, after the wedding, we watched 6 together. We love all kinds of movies though Angee tends to enjoy Disney movies and chick flicks more, while Robby enjoys action and drama (he calls them "thinking" movies). We also love to read together. Angee will read out loud to Robby while we are driving. She even convinced him to like listening to Twilight. Robby loves reading so much and could probably spend 95 percent of his time in a library. He is constantly learning new things and has taught himself how to do so many different things just from reading. He hopes to one day write his own book. Angee is more of a fantasy reader. She loves Anne of Green Gables and Harry Potter and has read them over and over again.

We love to go to Disneyland. We go several times a year and just love the magic that Disneyland has. We try to do something new every time we go but we do have our favorite things to do. Robby loves to go and draw while Angee loves to watch the parades and fireworks.

We both have a love of music. Robby plays the guitar and Angee plays the Tuba and sings. We hope our children will have a love of music, whether or not they play an instrument or sing, or just love listening to music, that will be fine with us. We also were in sports and want to allow them to choose a sport that they love and will work hard at, and be successful in.

Our Thoughts on Adoption

We have been dreaming about our future children for a while, and though some dreams have changed, such as having 9 months of a baby growing inside and having time to prepare, a lot of them have stayed the same. We want to instill a love of learning. We already have a small library of children's books and are building upon that slowly. We want to read to our children and spend time with them. Angee will be a stay-at-home mom and though Robby will work outside the house for now, he is working on building a business so that he can work from home and spend as much time as possible with our family.

When we learned that we would be adopting to complete our family, we began researching adoption. During that research, we learned about birth parents and open adoption. We have such a great love and respect for birth parents. We want our children to know that they have birth parents who love them and want our children to know their birth parents through out their lives. We are very comfortable with an open adoption and hope to build a lasting relationship with birth parents, because there can never be enough people in a child's life that love them and care for them.

Love,

Robby & Angee

Spotlight Saturday - Nicholas & Rachel

Please take a moment to get to know Nicholas & Rachel, a great couple in Colorado hoping to adopt.

You can find out more about them and contact them by visiting their adoption blog:

http://rachelandnicholas.blogspot.com/

Update: Congratulations to Nicholas & Rachel!

They adopted a baby girl in February.

"Life has no limit if you're not afraid to get in it"

In the Beginning...
We met as college students living in the same apartment complex in the fall of 2004 at Brigham Young University. We slowly got to know each other and, after 8 months, started dating right at the end of the school year. During the next summer Rachel went home to Oregon and Nicholas headed off to Ohio for an internship. We were both surprised by how often we called and e-mailed each other after only a couple weeks of dating. When we got back to college in the fall we continued to date and in November of 2005 we were engaged. We were married 5 months later in April 2006 in the Portland Oregon temple.
Since then we have finished our bachelor’s degrees from BYU and then moved to Colorado where we both began our graduate degrees. It has been an exciting 5 years together as a couple and we look forward to all the unexpected events of the future!

Nicholas’ Thoughts on Rachel
Rachel is an amazing woman. She is beautiful, talented, courageous, and a lot of fun to be around. When something is important to her she goes after it full-throttle. For a long time now she has wanted to be a mother and be able to focus her life on that most-important task, but in the meantime she has worked hard to prepare herself by building her testimony of God’s love, going back to school for her Master’s degree, and working with children in church and professionally.

Rachel’s Thoughts on Nicholas
My first year of college was a defining time of my life. It really caused me to live on faith, since I had no money to live on! One of my roommates sat me down at the end of the year and told me straight out that I could be happy despite all the problems my family and I were having. Shortly after that I began dating Nicholas, and I have never been happier! The Lord gives us trials, then blesses us for seeing them through and trusting in Him. Nicholas is a blessing for which I thank God daily. He is a brilliant and humble man who takes his role as provider for his family seriously, yet in a fun and patient manner. He has a solid testimony and everyday with him is a joy.
Not to brag too much, but he also earned the cutest smile award in his preschool!

Our Thoughts on Adoption
We did not want to begin the adoption process without knowing this was the right choice for our family. After much prayer, fasting, and discussion, we knew this is what we should be doing for our family.
We know that a baby can never have too much love, and therefore we feel very comfortable with an open adoption. Rachel loves taking pictures which we would be happy to share along with letters and other updates. We would be comfortable with receiving updates from you too. We are willing to explore a level of openness that is comfortable for everyone.

Spotlight Saturday - Josh & Kenna: Looking For Their 'Little'

Please take a moment to get to know Josh & Kenna.

If you know an expectant mother who is considering adoption, she can find out more about them and contact them by visiting their adoption blog:

http://shumwayadoption.blogspot.com

Update: Congratulations to Josh & Kenna who recently adopted a baby boy!

Josh & Kenna

When we got married almost four years ago, we thought we would have the life we’d always planned for. We dreamed of finishing school… working and saving our hard-earned money… having kids. Little did we know what was in store for us. Fast-forward to present day: two miscarriages, one perfect, still-born child at almost 20 weeks, one brain tumor and an infinite amount of heart break later. We have waded through life’s trials and have sought to see the light at the end of this horrendous tunnel. But it’s hard some days. Most days. You see, the one thing we desire most in this life—a child—is the one thing that we have been told we cannot have. At least not the way we always thought we would.

Josh Says. . .
I am a student at Utah Valley University studying biology and chemistry. I am striving to get into Pharmacy School. I enjoy learning new things and being able to teach others. I have always liked the outdoors as well as sports. Sometimes I even take time to relax and play a few games on the Wii. I feel that I work hard to get what I want. I am patient with people and am very slow to anger. I like opportunities to help others in whatever way possible. Most important of all, I can't wait to be a dad to my own 'little.'
Kenna is a very caring person. I have always enjoyed watcher her do secret acts of service for others. She'll write beautiful notes to people to lift them up and help out in any way possible. She has a great sense of humor and can always bring a smile to my face. I am always amazed at how strong she is. Kenna is very determined. She knows what she wants and will do everything in her power to accomplish her goals. She is very smart and loves to learn. This comes in very hand for me because she helps me out in school. Kenna is very organized and keeps things in order. She is tender and calm and she is going to make an amazing mommy to a lucky 'little.'

Kenna Says. . .

I am a sassy music junkie who often expresses my feelings through the lyrics of a song. It is something that I connect deeply with. I relish the quiet, calm moments in life. I love my family and friends deeply and am fiercely protective of them. I am passionate and driven so when I put my mind to something, I accomplish it. I love to write, whether on my blog or my book. In turn I also love to read. My true love, other than Josh of course, is the ocean. I am looking forward, and want nothing more, than to being a mommy to a sweet 'little' through adoption.
Josh is the most loving, strong and calm man I have ever encountered. This is, of course, why I snatched him up before anyone else could get to him. He has been my stability through the trials we have faced. He is my best friend, my sounding board, my partner in crime. Josh is a disciplined, proactive worker & leader. He has a tenacity and drive that I have never seen in an individual. Josh also has a gentle, soft side, especially when it comes to the 'littles.' Children adore him and are drawn to him. He is playful and patient. Josh wants nothing more than to be a daddy to his own 'little.'

Adoption Success Story - Baby Addilynn

With all the ups and downs involved in the miracle that is adoption, at times it feels like we hear about the downs more than the ups. We love to see adoption success stories, and baby Addi's is a great one. Her birth mother, Brittani, placed her with Daren and Shannon last week. Addi will enjoy a wonderful, open (albeit long distance) relationship with her birth mother from day one. We're jumping up and down with joy for all of them! You can jump over to Daren and Shannon's blog, too, and see what all the fuss is about.

Congratulations baby Addi!

Spotlight Saturday - A Happy Colorado Couple Hoping to Adopt

Please take a moment to get to know Mark & Tiffany, a loving Colorado couple.

If you know an expectant mother who is considering adoption, she can find out more about them and contact them by visiting their adoption blog:

http://markandtiffanyadoption.blogspot.com/

Update: Congratulations to Mark & Tiffany! They adopted a girl in March!

Mark and Tiffany met at a church function in 2003 and became quick friends. After several months of pestering, Mark finally convinced Tiffany to go on a date with him. The tables then turned, and after a year of dating, Tiffany finally convinced Mark to marry her! We have been married since 2005 and we are still in love like the first day, and are best friends.

Mark is an easy-going guy who likes spending time with family and friends. He enjoys sports, but particularly likes playing tennis and swimming. During the NBA season, he loves going to basketball games (Go Nuggets!). He loves music and enjoys playing the guitar and singing. Mark spends his Sundays with the little children in our church, so that their parents can go to Sunday School. He loves blowing bubbles with them, coloring with them and most importantly, teaching them about Jesus. Mark works in our local emergency room, in the Materials Management department.

Tiffany is a fun-loving gal with a great attitude towards life. She likes spending her time cooking and baking. She enjoys inventing new recipes and keeping Mark well fed and happy! Tiffany also enjoys making crafts and decorating our home to match the seasons. She teaches the 16, 17 and 18 year old girls in our church about how to be strong and smart women, so that they can succeed in their future lives and families. She works part-time for Mark’s dad as a secretary for his business in his home, which creates an excellent opportunity to bring our future children with her to play with Grandma and Grandpa. Tiffany also runs her own business making wedding cakes and candies.
We can't wait for our future child to become a part of our large and loving extended family! There are already lots of cousins who want to play! Our dog, Queso, has tons of energy and does so well with kids. He is gentle with them, and he loves running in circles with them! We are sure that he is looking forward to having a new little friend in the home.

We know that a child can't ever have too much love, and we are comfortable with an open adoption. We would love to send letters, pictures and updates, and we would be comfortable with receiving updates from you too. We are willing to explore a level of openness that is comfortable for everyone.

We are excited to grow our family, and can't wait to experience parenthood! We truly love children and we are eager to have them in our home. Thank you for learning about us!

Spotlight Saturday - Roman Is Ready to Be a Big Brother!

Please take a moment to get to know Spencer and Wendy, and their cute little guy, Roman.

You can find out more about them and contact them by visiting their adoption blog:

http://www.spencerandwendy.blogspot.com

Update: Congratulations to Spencer & Wendy! They welcomed a baby boy to their family in July.

Spencer and I have always enjoyed spending time together. Whether it is on a trip, a day up the canyon, or just spending a little time together at home. We love long weekends where we can just relax together.

Every year we go to California for the 4th of July for Spencer's family reunion. It is something we both look forward to every year. Last year as we were driving to his Grandma's house we were almost to her house and I realized how much I loved his family. I felt like I was going home.
Some of our favorite trips have been just weekend trips. We love to take a long weekend and go to Moab, Mesa Verde, Flaming Gorge, or even just up the canyons for an afternoon.

We love playing with our Dachshund/Terrier dog Brodie. She has been a part of our family for 6 years and we love her so much. Most days as Roman wakes up from his nap, she is excitedly waiting at the door to greet him.

Since Roman was born we have continued doing all our favorite things with him. We hike, snowshoe, and most importantly just love spending time together as a family. We look forward to doing many other things as a family.

Spotlight Saturday - A Happy Utah Family Hoping to Adopt Again

Please take a moment to get to know Ryan and Helen and their adorable little toddler, Emily.

You can find out more about them and contact them by visiting their adoption blog:

http://ryanhelenandemily.blogspot.com

Update: Congratulations to Ryan & Helen! They adopted a girl in July!

We met in the Fall of 1998. Helen was a senior in college, and competing on the women’s volleyball team. Ryan was a first year law student. Over the next several years we kept in touch. Helen served a full-time mission and started graduate school in Utah and Ryan started practicing law in California. Despite living in different states, we began dating and eventually fell in love. We were married a year later in December 2003.

Shortly after our wedding, Ryan was offered a job in Salt Lake City. We were thrilled to move close to most of Helen’s family, and we bought a house only one block away from one of Ryan’s older sisters. The house, a 1960’s rambler, needed some work, but we chose it because of its beautiful and convenient location.

After a couple of years and many doctors’ appointments, we learned that we will most likely never conceive children. Although it was sad, adoption was an easy choice for us. Helen has a sister who was adopted and we both have cousins who were adopted, so we knew how inspired adoptions are.

In October 2007, we were placed with a beautiful newborn and named her Emily. She has been an extraordinary blessing in our home and in our extended families. We adore her and thank Heavenly Father each day for her birth parents who selected us. We have an open relationship with them and have been blessed by their continued interest and support in Emily’s life. We love taking lots of photos and video of her milestones to share with them.

Ryan’s job as an attorney allows Helen to stay home with Emily. Helen loves getting to spend the whole day with Emily at home or out with friends and family. Emily goes to swimming lessons once a week, music class once a week, and frequently meet friends for lunch or a play date. In the summer Helen and Emily enjoy "cousin days". Each week they meet Emily's grandma, aunts and cousins to visit a zoo, museum, park, or pool.

Before Emily was born, we adopted two cats from the animal shelter. They are quirky, but we love them. Emily especially loves the cats and is learning how to pet them and play with them.

Spotlight Saturday - Waiting for the "Wright" baby

Lincoln, Megan and John Henry are a great family in Washington state. They have been actively involved in the adoption community while they have been waiting to adopt. You can find out more about them and contact them by visiting their adoption blog:

http://mightbebabywright.blogspot.com

Update: Congratulations to Lincoln & Megan! They adopted a boy in February!

We like to have fun and often err on the side of silliness. We like to TRAVEL and see new things. Some of the fun places we have been are: British Columbia, Oregon, California, New York and Washington DC.

We also enjoy playing board GAMES. Some of our favorite games are Settlers of Catan, gin, and cribbage. We also like “The Bean Game.” We don’t know what it’s really called because neither of us speak German and the whole game is in German, but we have a lot of fun making up our own names for the cards.

When we get a bit of FREE TIME Link likes to spend it swimming and paint-balling. Megan loves to knit and even spins and dyes much of her own yarn. John Henry loves to listen to music, go swimming, and play with our family dogs, Maggie and Logan.

Of course, if you want to play hard, you have to WORK hard first, and we know all about that. Lincoln has a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a Doctorate of Pharmacy. He works as a pharmacist in a hospital. Megan has a bachelor’s degree in History and as of writing this is three classes away from her Master’s degree in Business (Hurray!) She goes part time in the evenings so that she can spend her days with John Henry (and his brothers and sisters, eventually!)

We have a big extended FAMILY that we visit or are visited by several times a year. Since Lincoln's brother has ADOPTED TWO CHILDREN, our families know how wonderful adoption can be and are already eagerly waiting the next grandchild, nephew/niece, or cousin.

Spotlight Saturday - A Wonderful Phoenix Family Hoping to Grow!

Rick and Christi are so excited about welcoming a new child to their home through adoption. Their adorable daughter Bella is anxious to be a big sister. Please take a moment to get to know them. You can find out more about them and contact them by visiting:

http://afamilytoadopt.com

Update: Congratulations to Rick & Christi! They adopted a girl in April!

We first met through mutual friends. As time went by, we kept running into each other, and eventually we became good friends. After a few months of friendship and laughter, we began dating, and have been happily married since 1996.

We always knew we wanted children, and in 2003, our daughter Bella was born. Christi, who was working as a marriage and family therapist prior to Bella's arrival, left her job to be a stay at home mom. We have always felt incredibly fortunate that Christi has been able to stay at home to raise Bella, and she eagerly looks forward to doing the same when our next child arrives. Rick works in technical support, and his office is less than 15 minutes away from our home and he is home from work most nights by 5:30.

As a family we enjoy spending time together going swimming, playing games, going to the park at the end of our street, playing with our dogs, having family movie nights and spending time with our family and friends. We love to visit Disneyland and take a few short trips there each year. We love going to the beach in San Diego, California each summer. We also enjoy going to Pinetop in Northern Arizona for the Fourth of July each year with Christi's parents, grandparents, and her brothers, sister, and their families. We go hiking, ride the go-karts, watch the fireworks while eating ice cream, and enjoy the cool weather while having a great time with our family.

We share a lot of love and laughter, and we hope to have another child join our family and share in those special times with us.

Spotlight Saturday - A Great Couple in Missouri Hoping to Adopt!

Please take a moment to get to know Kelly and Lechelle. You can find out more about them and contact them by visiting:

kellyandlechelle.com

Kelly & Lechelle

Update: Congratulations to Kelly & Lechelle! They adopted a boy in April!

Kelly was fresh off the plane from his two year LDS mission to João Pessoa, Brazil, when he started his small honors psychology class at UVSC. Lechelle was fresh off the plane from her 5 month experience of teaching English in rural Namsom, Thailand, when she joined that same class. Because it was a small class of 8, everyone got to know each other very well and became fast friends, but it was Kelly and Lechelle who bonded the most. It was like they were little kids getting caught writing notes and whispering during lectures, so much that the other students began to tease them about being more than friends, which Lechelle adamantly denied simply because it hadn't occurred to her to really think about. While studying for finals together at the end of the semester, Kelly surprised Lechelle with a confession; he had a crush on her.

The first three months of our courtship began long distance, with Kelly spending a summer away with his older brother. They called each other every day, wrote e-mails, letters, and postcards. They could not spend a day without talking to each other, and their friendship solidified. When Kelly returned, romance was quickly brought back into their friendship and they easily fell into dating. One year after their planes brought them back to the same country, Kelly proposed, and five months later they married in the LDS Salt Lake Temple.

Now they are living in Kansas City, Missouri. Kelly is in dental school, studying hard for a stable career to support his family and learn the skills to help people in need. Lechelle has her degree in social work and is currently working as a secretary at a law firm.

They have now been married for three and a half wonderful years. They love each other very much and are looking forward to becoming parents.

Update: Congratulations to Doug & Marianne! They adopted a girl in May!

We are excited to get to know you and to become good friends along this road called life.

We have spent time learning all about adoption. We love what we have learned so far and want to share the joy of adoption with everyone we meet. We are blessed with the struggle of unexplained infertility and embrace the unknown road ahead.

We both enjoy traveling and meeting new people. Together we have been to several European countries and about half the United States. Our passion for traveling led us to each other. We were both studying German (as a minor) at Brigham Young University and found each other in our neighboring apartments. We knew we were meant for each other from the first date.

You can think of us as a dynamic duo. We are best friends and love playing and working hard together. We love children and we want to create a laboratory of love in our home where children can grow in security and love.

Doug enjoys singing, Calvin & Hobbes comics, peanut butter cookies, running, and being silly. He thinks fun is often the most effective teacher.

Marianne likes photography, volleyball, dancing, family history research, and training our dog, Lady. She is our personal party planner.

Over the last 6 years of marriage, we have cultivated our common interests and created our family traditions. We have been lucky enough to spend time together in church callings, carpooling to work, and running races. Together we have learned to dance, train our dog, and design our house. Marianne is the one who develops our design plans and has done the research. Doug is the one who has the skills to get the job done. A few examples of our daring deeds including some furniture upholstery projects, landscaping our backyard, and growing a thriving garden.

We want you to share with you all our joys and hopes for our future family. We have compiled a list of core values that we live by, which you can read more about at our website: www.marianneanddoug.com.

We have testimonies of the Savior of Jesus Christ. We will teach our children that they were “hand-picked” by their loving birth parents to be in our home. We will encourage our children to be positive role models who support and uplift those around them.

With warm hearts and best wishes,
Doug and Marianne

Update: Congratulations to Eric & Sharmayne! They adopted a girl in March!

Hello, we are Eric and Sharmayne. We have been married for eight years, and they have been the best years of our lives. During that time we have both grown in so many ways, both as individuals and as husband and wife. We began our marriage with the desire to have children, for reasons beyond our own understanding we were given the challenge of infertility. This was a struggle for both of us at the beginning, but now we have come to terms with it, and are ready to move on and pursue adoption as a way for our family to grow.

We have gained a great appreciation for the sacrifice given by birth parents, for they truly are giving of themselves to allow the child to have the very best opportunities in life. We have friends who have adopted through LDS Family Services and they have been blessed with wonderful children. They have mentioned to us the love they have felt for God putting into the hearts of the birth parents the desire to provide the child with a better life.

We were both raised in good homes, with parents and siblings who have shown great support and love for us throughout our lives. Sharmayne comes from a large family with eleven children, while Eric is the only boy in a family with three girls. We were both taught the value of hard work and to pursue goals. Sharmayne received her Associate Degree in Graphic Arts with High Honors. Eric was able to get a Bachelors Degree in Accounting while both working and going to college full-time. Eric is an auditor for the federal government.

We each have different hobbies. Sharmayne enjoys the arts, while Eric is more interested in playing and watching sports. Sharmayne plays the piano, sings, and draws. She also enjoys decorating the house and keeping it looking nice. Eric enjoys reading and occasionally playing video games.

In church activities Sharmayne is a teacher for eight year olds. Sharmayne has in the past played the organ, piano, and worked with young women and children. Eric served as a missionary in Argentina for two years and worked with the young men and missionaries.

Family is the most important thing to us, and for this reason we look forward to sharing our love with a child.

With Love,

Eric and Sharmayne
