lounging in a camp chair
CJ was so darn proud of himself for managing to get up into a camp chair that was out in the living room. He just climbed right up there and relaxed as he watched Backyardigans on TV. Don't you just love that squinty face?! What a goofball!

driving through the wildfire
We were on our way home to Arizona when we got stuck in traffic that was diverted off of I-15 because of a crazy big wildfire near Beaver. It took us longer to get home because of it. The wind was really bad and all the smoke blew over to the back roads we were on. It felt so strange driving through it. Very eerie. We are so thankful we traveled safely.

Meeting baby Kaya
Kaya Marie is Carter's newest cousin. Kaya was adopted by Shane's sister Alona and her husband Aaron in May. She is so tiny!
