With love in our hearts...
We are sad to have to announce that the birth mother who chose us has changed her mind and has decided to parent her baby. We have a great deal of love and respect for her and ask that you will pray for her and for her son. We know that the decision whether to place a child for adoption is never an easy one and that she has a lot to deal with right now that we can't understand. We have been so blessed to be allowed to see the hand of the Lord in our lives as we've traveled down the road of adoption and have witnessed many miracles. We knew from the start that our path may be a bumpy one, but we also know that the Lord will bless our family to grow in His time. We look forward, with arms wide open, to the time our family will grow again. We are more grateful than ever for your support and prayers along the way!

He keeps saying, "Head broke a winnow."
I heard a crunch today and turned around to see Carter wedged between the couch and window saying "stuck!"... with his head dented back into the curtain and blinds a little too far for it to be normal. I was afraid to move him, afraid he had glass in his head. I asked if he was okay. He said he was okay. Joe and Claudia taught us never to pick him up if we are afraid he's hurt badly, but instead to have him come to us so we know he's okay and we aren't causing further injury. It's hard to overcome that initial instinct, but we are getting better at it. He was stuck, and I knew that, but I told him to come to Momma and when I saw him try enough that I knew he could move on his own, I pulled him out. Tender mercy, he was completely untouched by the glass. Saying prayers of thanks. Here's the window from the inside and the outside:

Anyone up for a little healthy competition???
If you feel you may have a bit of weight to lose after the holidays and you want in on a very motivating competition, click here to check out my friend Mindy's weight-loss challenge. The last time she held this, each person put in $25 and then at the end of the challenge, whomever had lost at least 10% of their starting weight got to split the jackpot. I was a winner and got to buy a new pair of SMALLER jeans with my prize money! This time, we each are putting in $40 and there are a lot more people involved...therefore, the pot is much bigger! GAME ON!
If you are interested, let me know and I can forward you Mindy's e-mail with more details and the official rules.
