Intel Trick-or-Treat

Carter & I got to visit Shane at work today to join in the Halloween festivities. We had to get security clearance ahead of time and had to wear sticker badges the whole time we were there. Carter wore his monkey suit in, but it was quite warm and stuffy in the office, so we changed him soon after we arrived. Shane loved showing Carter off to his colleagues and I loved getting out of the house! It was fun to have the floor flilled with trick-or-treaters and of course to get to see where Shane works every day and to meet some of the people he talks about on a daily basis!

Our First Visit to Schnepf Farms

Schnepf Farms is hard to pronounce and hard to spell, but a joy to visit! We attended the pumpkin & chili Fall festival this weekend at Schnepf Family Farms in Queen Creek (just south of here). We shared a chicken & chili dinner accompanied by a great live band, enjoyed pig races, rides, the corn maze, hay ride, pumpkin patch, yummy treats, and fun little shops. Shane especially loved the variety of fresh salsas for sell! He got red raspberry and roasted pepper salsas. We loved the caramel apple pie fresh from the bake shop. This festival is one we'd love to make it a tradition to attend each year, especially as Carter grows and can enjoy it more.

Sweet Smiles

It's moments like this that make those 5 long years we waited for a baby all melt away! Although his stoic looks on webcam visits with family portray him as serious, CJ is turning into quite the goofball! He smiles and giggles most of the time with Mom & Dad unless he is grumpy from lack of sleep, food, or a clean diaper. He is beginning to love playing games like patty-cake, peek-a-boo, etc. Shane has come up with some sing-song types of games Carter loves. One goes like this (to a certain tune): "If I wasn't a baby, then maybe just maybe, I would be a ______." Fill in the blank with an animal name, ans then do your best impression of that animal, and Carter is in stitches! What a sweet boy! This picture was taken while playing peel-a-boo in his bouncer.

Our First 100 Grand!

We're still working on the money style of 100 grand, but we did manage to accumulate 100 K miles on our car today. Now if we could just count on it for another hundred thousand miles, we would be in business. It has been through its share of bumps and bruises, but it has been a good little car for us!

My Good Deed For Today!

Last night I decided to surprise Mommy and Daddy. I went to bed like usual around 10:30 so they wouldn't suspect anything. Then around 2:30 am when I usually wake up to eat, I tried something new instead. I kept sleeping. I tried this until 5:30 am when I couldn't wait any more and woke up Mommy and Daddy to tell them what I did. My dad grogily mumbled something about me changing the clocks ahead because he thought that was more likley than me sleeping for 7 hours last night. What a great trick!

My New Rocker!

Mommy and Daddy found me a rocking chair at a garage sale yesterday for $20. I am really excited about it. I think I can get used to this couch potato thing!
