NYC 2008

Of course part of the fun of visiting Marci and family is taking a day trip into the Big Apple. Dwight took us in with Eliza, Annie, and some other girls in their ward. Marci kept Carter and the other younger kids at home, bless her. We started out at the Manhattan temple. Dwight and the girls spent some time in the temple while we went to the Met. (We were going to go to the temple, too, but realized the night before that Shane had no church clothes and no recommend.) I have always wanted to go to the Met...and I got to take my first cab ride to get there! All very exciting. Here I am in front of the Met:The superhero fashion exhibit was a lot of fun. We also enjoyed the Egyptian area and the decorative arts section. I definitely wish we'd had more time there, but was glad for a chance to visit at all. Here are pics from that: Who are those cool kids in the mirror?Check out the sunbathers outside the museum:
And my handsome hubby in front of the cool Egyptian temple:
For lunch we went to Ollie's -- yum Chinese food.
The rest of the day we spent walking the city starting in Central Park, which was PACKED with happy people enjoying the fabulous weather (80 degrees and cheerfully sunny):Eliza and Annie decide to hula hoop in the middle of Central Park:Check out this amazing little girl working three hoops! She's got mad hoopin' skills:Awww...
Love this girl:And this one:And M&M's (at the M&M store):
Here's what Shane was excited to catch a shot of in Times Square (imagine how happy he'd have been if the stock had gone up instead of down that day!):
And a visit to F.A.O. Schwartz included a little visit with my good friends Harry and Hagrid:At the end of the day I was SO TIRED but it was awesome!

How perfect to get to top everything off with a trip to NY!! It looks picture-perfect. My favorite part of it was the hula hoops in the park. Did you try to reinact "You've Got Mail"??? I'm pretty syure that's what I would've done. :) And how nice that you didn't have Carter with. Marci is a saint!
