Check us out: Shane and Megan on Parent Profiles!
Many of you have asked at one point or another if you could give us a recommendation or referral for adoption, so that prospective birth parents would know that we have loving family members and friends who not only support us in our adoption efforts, but would recommend us as adoptive parents. Until now, there wasn't really a way to do that. However, we now have an online profile with a website called Parent Profiles that allows family members and friends to make contributions to a profile. Parent Profiles is just what it sounds like -- profiles of prospective adoptive parents for prospective birth parents to search through. The reason why we are interested in Parent Profiles is that we can get a lot of exposure from it. According to their pamphlet, "ParentProfiles.com works with top adoption web sites such as Adoption.com, Adoption.org, Crisispregnancy.com, Adopting.org and Birthmother.com to ensure maximum availability and exposure for your profile." They claim to be "The #1 Registry of Adoption Parent Profiles." We have known about Parent Profiles for several years, but have waited until now to use it because we had not felt it was right before. We now feel it is the right time for us to be on Parent Profiles and we are prayerful that the right connections will be made.
One of the features through Parent Profiles is a section called "Journal." It is suggested that the journal section of our profile include "things family members and friends have to say about you, your love for children, and your unique ability and desire to be a parent." And so, if you feel so compelled, we would invite you to leave a comment on this blog post with a contribution. We know you are all busy, so it can be very brief or as long as you want. There is also a spot for a picture with each entry. You can either e-mail a picture of you or your family with your referral, or we can add a picture we already have.
We are eternally grateful
for all of your on-going support and prayers in our behalf!
Much Love,
Shane, Megan, and Carter

Our Beliefs
Day of Faith: Personal Quests for a Purpose - 3. Rachel Esplin from Harvard Hillel on Vimeo.
If you are visiting our blog, you most likely are aware of the fact that we are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (A.K.A. Mormons). You might have questions about our beliefs, and I only wish I were as eloquent as the young woman in this video in answering the type of questions others might have about our church. Here's what cjanerun said about the video:
This past weekend Chup and I watched an interesting video featuring Rachel Esplin, a 20-year old Mormon at Harvard get grilled about her religion by journalist Sally Quin. She handles each answer with intellect and coolness surprising for someone her age. After we were done watching the clip I told Chup that he should call his Idaho contacts and see if we could get a hold of Rachel's mother. I have to ask what she fed her daughter every morning for breakfast.
Impressive.

Proud Auntie
I adore my nieces and nephews. I think they are magnificently talented people (and I also think that they happen to be very good-looking people as well -- I might be a bit biased)! If you live in Utah Valley, you should check out my insanely gorgeous niece, Elizabeth, on page 65 of the March/April issue of Utah Valley Magazine. Yes, that's her with the incredible eyes! She did an internship at the magazine last year and the photographer liked her so much he asked her to be his senior model. Congrats, Lizzie, on being accepted to BYU! We are so excited for you!
If you don't live in Utah Valley, you can still see her here.
P.S. - I wish I could show off all my nieces and nephews because they are all amazing. I hope they tell me if they have news because I would love to show all of them off! I am so blessed to be their Auntie M!
