Thoughts on Baby

This picture is of the baby's crib so far. It includes a darling pillow and blanket Marci created for the baby's vintage western-themed nursey.

I spent the last week in Utah after Shane returned to AZ. I was hoping for a last chance to see our sweet birthmother before the baby is born. I was also hanging on there in case the baby came early. Jesse already went into labor once a few weeks ago.

However, I found out on Tuesday that Jesse and Jolene were unable to see us, and that Jesse's doctor was still saying that she's due on the 23rd, so I came home. Here was a huge blessing-- I had to borrow money from my parents to get my flight home at the last minute. However, when I got to the airport, I was asked to volunteer to take a flight just about an hour and a half after my original planned flight. I was glad to take the later, much less crowded flight in exchange for a travel voucher in the amount of the cost of my ticket plus $100!!! What a wonderful blessing! Now, I can pay my parents back with interest by using the voucher for a ticket for each of them to come visit! (Am I selfish or what?!)

So now I am just finding myself "nesting." Yesterday I cleaned house all day. Today, I have obviously caught up on the blog. I want to be caught up when the baby comes, hence the huge stretch of posts. I have all these restless thoughts of wanting to get as much ready as I can to successfully be a mommy in control of my home and well-being. I am sure it's similar to the "nesting" that a pregnant woman does. Same emotions, just a bit different as I am carrying the baby in my heart while Jesse carries the baby in her tummy!

Anyway, just wanted to give a baby update. Thanks to you all who have been a wonderful support to us in our adoption pursuits!
