We had a great church enrichment evening last Thursday called something like, "Bread, Beans, and Beyond!" It just sounds exciting, right??? ;) Well, we learned about making bread, using beans, crock pot cooking, making really yummy homemade graham crackers and mock-Wheat Thins, and other helpful information related to food and food storage. The best part was that there were taste tests of everything and a packet of all the recipes to boot! I'm so glad I didn't eat dinner before I left. There were gobs of food all over the place to sample.

Fast forward to this afternoon when I happen to find myself near the new food storage place (at Chandler Blvd. and Priest) I heard about at enrichment night, so I decided to stop in and have a looksie. I am still thinking about those tastey freeze-dried blackberries they let me sample! Here is some info about the new store from their website (www.honeyvillegrain.com):

The new Honeyville Farms Retail Store in Chandler is the latest addition in a rapidly expanding retail sales segment. Just a short drive from Phoenix, customers can purchase staple food items like wheat, barley, and oats along with canned food storage products for family preparedness. The store also features a variety of camping, survival, and disaster preparedness products. If you're in the greater Phoenix or Scottsdale, Arizona area the Honeyville Farms Store in Chandler is a must see.
For all those of you in the area, I would highly suggest stopping by. Right now, Honeyville Farms has better prices on wheat, O2 packs, etc. than even the LDS canneries do. Fun store and helpful people there! Stop by and maybe they will let you sample the fabulous freeze-dried blackberries too!
