ICPC Progress

We found out today that MI ICPC has been satisfied and has sent the file onto AZ ICPC! That means if AZ receives it tomorrow and gives clearance, we could go home over the weekend! We are praying they don't keep us over the weekend, but either way, we are getting very close to being able to take Ruby home!

Your story hits so close to home because it is so similar to how things went with our baby Forest. We got a call on a Monday morning saying that he had just been born, and his birth mother wanted to place him with us. We needed to get to Utah that night, which we did of course!

We ended up sitting in Utah for 2 weeks while we waited for ICPC, and it was torture. The one blessing was that my husband, Kent, went back to AZ and then brought our 2 girls back up to Utah so we could at least wait together.

Also similar to your situation was how Forest's birth mother wanted to proceed as far as openness. The one thing we were able to pull off was to get a picture of her and his half-sister who's 2 years old. We often wish we could be in communication with her, but we know that she has to deal with the loss in her own way, and we are forever grateful to her for blessing our lives with Forest.

So happy for you and your family, and I can't wait to see little Ruby!
