A while back, I read about the FREE biweekly kid's clinic that Lowe's offers from our friends James and Cali's blog. I checked it out and was excited to see that they would be building a treasure chest for the next one. Carter couldn't stop talking about it the day before, even though he had never gone. They gave him the apron and goggles free, as well as the kit with pre-drilled holes for the nails to make it easy on little hands.
He was beside himself when he had to stop playing with it to take a nap, but I had a plan. He woke up asking where his treasure chest was and I said he would have to follow the maps to find it. He followed a series of 4 maps (authentically burned and wrinkled) through our house to find his hidden treasure. The chest even has a false bottom as a secret hiding place!
